The Double Ended Quoin Key is used to tighten the clamps or ‘Quoins’ that are used to hold cutting dies, printing blocks, embossing dies or letterpress type into printing presses. It originates from the early days of letterpress printing and is still in use today. While there are few different patterns of quoin key, ours is generally the most commonplace one.
Our Quoin Keys will fit standard ‘Cornerstone’ full-width quoins or other makes of quoin that follow the standard square socket pattern screw. They also fit the narrow-margin or slim quoins.
We make them out of specially selected high grade steel for a long life.
