We use a variety of postal and shipping services depending on the nature of the items we are sending. We always do our best to balance cost to the client against the necessity to guarantee delivery and insure the items sent. The following list will explain our shipping classifications and packing policies but if you still have questions do please contact us through the store contact page.

 

Shipping Classifications

  • Polymer Plates – Exposed Material

If we make plates for you they will be posted ordinary Royal Mail first class, the cost of which is included in the price of plates below £50.00 in value. If the value of your order is over £50 we will charge £4.50 towards postage. All plates are posted with proof of postage, if they do not arrive after seven days we are able to send a form to Royal Mail to file a claim for lost postage and can renew your plates free of charge. We’ve only had one client claim a plate did not arrive in the last 12 months – and we send out many hundreds of plates.

If you need a guaranteed next day delivery because of time constraints we suggest paying for Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For from £4.50 or Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed By 1PM. International clients should email us about shipping options for plates. Generally we send them international signed for which for small to medium plate parcels is £13.00 but do check with us. This includes Ireland.

Packing is a bubble jiffy envelope and the plates are taped to protective material to shield the print area during transit.

  • Polymer Plates – Unexposed Raw Plate Material

Unexposed plates bought through the on-line store ship on a standard 48 hour Signed For and insured delivery.

Packing – unexposed photopolymer plates bought through the on-line store are processed in dark room conditions and packed in UV blocking material. Small quantities ship with protective boards in a bubble envelope. Packs of more than five sheets ship in a packing case with void fill or for A2 cases in a specially designed shipping case. Raw materials are non-returnable for obvious reasons.

  • Chase Bases – 8×5

The Adana Base ships Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded Signed For Delivery.

Packing – Ships in bubble wrap with protective boards inside a bubble jiffy envelope.

  • Chase Bases – Larger Than 8×5

All Chase Bases for presses ship standard 48 hour signed for and insured delivery for the UK mainland, our international delivery takes a little longer.

Packing – Ships in a large strong packing case with re-inforced sides and bubble/void fill.

  • Pressroom Supplies – Vanson Inks

Vanson inks often come direct from the UK depot although we carry a range in stock. For those that aren’t carried in stock we are charged a shipping fee for up to 20kg, it is best to order more than one in this instance to make the most of shipping costs Shipped via courier and signed for delivery.

Packing – Vanson specially designed cartons or courier pouches.

  • Pressroom Supplies – No. 1 Inks

Our own inks are shipped from stock on a weight basis.

Packing – Small packing case with void fill/lbubble wrap.

  • Pressroom Supplies – Roller Gauge

    Ship Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded Signed For Delivery at £4.50 should be delivered next day.

Packing – Rolled in layers of bubble wrap inside a long postal tube and sealed.

  • Pressroom Supplies – Other Bulk Products

Some bulk products like press wash come direct from other manufacturers and will normally ship signed for next day delivery, prices vary.

Packing – Various depending on product type, liquids in approved containers, other items in cases.

Where multiple products are ordered, items will be shipped as case products.

 

We try as much as possible to use bio-degradable and low carbon footprint products. Our void fill is a certified product made from corn starch and will naturally degrade, cases are also degradable from renewable sources.We try to re-use as much packaging as we can to keep costs down for both you and ourselves.
